Supporting the Troy Historic Village
The Troy Historical Society now operates the Troy Historic Village.
The Troy Historic Village has its own website which describes the village and the programs available.

THS Operation of the Troy Historic Village
- The City of Troy retains ownership of the land, buildings and collections that comprise the facility and will continue to fund utilities, security, insurance, and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
- The City Manager will appoint a contact person who will communicate with the THS Board of Trustees and the Troy Historic Village Director and accept their financial and annual reports.
- The Troy Historical Society will oversee all operations, hire a full-time director, and use all revenues generated through admissions, mission-focused programs, grants, facility rentals and donations to operate the Historic Village.
"This agreement expands the forty-year relationship between the City and the Historical Society to a high-level, public-private partnership," said Troy Historic Village Director Loraine Campbell. "This strong relationship is built on volunteerism that spans nearly a half century. Local individuals and businesses have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Society to finance the relocation and restoration of the buildings in the Village and invested thousands of volunteer hours to provide programs and to care for the Village."
The Society's transition team understands the challenge that faces the organization. "The Society has stepped forward to keep this treasured reosurce open to the public and we need the support of everyone who loves the Historic Village and wants to be able to enjoy it," said Society Treasurer John Lavender. "We need to increase memberships, donations, and attendance, and find new ways for individuals, families, and businesses to benefit from the beautiful facility, the great programs, the archives and collections, and the knowledgeable and creative staff and volunteers we have here. The website provides information on volunteering and how to make a donation.

The Niles-Barnard House was moved to the Troy Historic Village on October 20, 2010. By September 2011 initial exterior reconstruction and repairs were almost complete. Interior restoration will begin at a future date when additional funding has been secured. Currently the Troy Historical Society is focused on raising funds that will enable us to continue operating the Troy Historic Village. While we wish to have the Niles-Barnard House open to the public as soon as we can, there is as yet no target date for public access.
